Fees and Charges

As a non-profit, locally owned cooperative, Northcentral Electric works to keep rates and fees associated with electric as low as possible. Northcentral’s service fees are based on our cost and charged so that members not requiring these special services will not have to share in the expenses.

$50.00 Membership Fee Each individual or business that requires electric service must become a member of the cooperative. Upon termination of service, your membership will be applied to the final bill or refunded.

$25.00 Hook Up Fee Required for all Mobile Home connections, new connection of commercial property and temporary power for new construction.

$25.00 Collection Fee This fee is required when Northcentral personnel must visit a member’s residence to collect a past due bill.

$75.00 Reconnection Fee This fee includes a $25 additional security deposit that is added to the existing security deposit/membership on the member’s account. It is required when a member’s account has been disconnected for non-payment and a reconnection is made during the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on days of regular business operation.

$115.00 Overtime Reconnection Fee This fee includes a $25 additional security deposit that is added to the existing security deposit/membership on the member’s account. It is required when a member’s account has been disconnected for non-payment and a reconnection is made during the hours of 4:00 PM and 9:30 PM Monday through Friday and 8:00 AM until 9:30 PM Saturday, Sunday and scheduled holidays.

$20.00 Return Check Fee This fee is required for any return check. An attempt to process the check will be made 3 times by SEDC. If the check is honored within the 3 attempts, SEDC will charge the return check fee. If the check returns to Northcentral for collection Northcentral will charge the returned check fee.

$308.50- Meter Tampering Fee This fee is required for a member whose meter shows signs of meter tampering. This fee includes $250.00 tampering fee, $50.00 service call charge and $8.50 for a locking band. This fee is subject to change based on details and damages to Northcentral equipment.

$50.00 Service Call Fee This fee is required if Northcentral is asked to respond to a problem that is not Northcentral’s responsibility during the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Friday on regular days of operation. (ie: Power off due to member’s breaker).

$75.00 After Hours Service Call This fee is required if Northcentral is asked to respond to a problem that is not Northcentral’s responsibility anytime outside of Northcentral’s regular service hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday, weekends and holidays. (ie: Power off due to member’s breaker).

This list does not include all of Northcentral’s fees and charges. There are charges and fees that may be applicable in unique situations. Examples would include, but not be limited to security lights being damaged or destroyed, multiple trips for same disconnection or connection of service, etc.
